SHHHH!!!

Jillian Ashley Blair Ivey of Phillyist thinks it’s OK to talk during a movie. Read why here:

People talk in movies. It's annoying, sure, but it's a fact. And, unless people are having extended conversations at louder-than-a-whisper volumes, it's actually not rude. There's an expectation, in today's attention-deprived world, that nobody can sit still for that long and be perfectly silent.
Oh, really? Her commenters think she’s dead wrong and so do I. Not only is it rude, it’s selfish. Tell her what you think.

I’m listening to “Contract With Depravity” by Kenyon Hopkins from Music in the First Degree.

Most of the time I loathe the unshushables, except when the movie is so bad a snide comment here and there only improves it. Favorite example: a group of us went to a matinee of Jason Goes To Hell back in the day, and it sucked so bad the whole audience (less than 30 people) were heaving verbal bombs about. Great time, it was.

But, no, that inconsiderate couple that wouldn't shut up during The Departed (at the Ritz!) should have been strung up. Hello, you're not in your living room; show some respect towards your fellow human beings. Especially at the Ritz - it ain't the friggin' Riverview y'know. Christ.
